June
from Ferndale, MI
June was referred to us by the family’s veterinarian after pharmacologic treatment for her aggression towards people had been ineffective.
June was purchased at the age of 6 weeks from an ad posted at a local 7-Eleven Convenience Store. It may have been a convenient purchase, but it was without the luck typically associated with the numbers 7 and 11 in philosophy and dice games.
By the age of 6 months June was a scary dog, unpredictably lunging aggressively at people. Soon she would be disqualified from daycare.
At the age of 5 years, a new human baby brother, and after working with several local trainers, June entered a behavior therapy program with us.
When we met June her owners stated that they had hoped for a perfect dog, but were now just looking to survive. With the completion of her therapy, June is drug free and pretty close to perfect and the family is no longer just in survival mode.

“Our dog, June, did the in-house training program with ALS for 10 weeks. She is now a week out and is doing things that she would never have been able to do before – go off leash at the park, be comfortable around people she previously would have lashed out at and walk by another dog without reacting. As a result, we can see that she is a happier pup! This program is SO worth it. Not to mention, we are just so impressed by how thorough, responsive and caring the ALS team is. Thank you!”
